Summary: In the beginning there was no magic, but Eileen learns from her grandmother it’s history and with it her own.
Notes: Wrestling with some personal stuff these past couple months meant I had to really push to get the deadline on this, so I am going to post it without Beta with my apologies. Unsolicited betaing is welcome.
Also, I am not Greek, but I did try, to the best of my knowledge, to be accurate in any Greek based details I added. If I failed let me know. It was not my intention. Enjoy.

Luna doesn't mind being left to talk to Trelawney. The poor woman, for all her talk of the inner eye, has obviously been painfully under informed when it comes to the goings on of the outside world. Luna knows, as future editor-in-chief of the The Quibbler, it is her responsibility to inform the public of things like the Rotfang Conspiracy, and is more then happy to divest any time she has to that end.
She is pleased to see that Professor Trelawney is properly outraged by the cleverly orchestrated use of gum disease as a means of debilitation, and mind control. One can hardly think when one's mouth is rotting. It is a painful and scary thing, but one must be brave, because it is the periodontal-Wizards whom are the real threat. Once phase one-- distract and annoy-- is finished, the weakened wizards are further violated when dark periodontists perform the Imperius curse on them. Half of the ministry is involved one way or another, whether willingly or under control of the those pulling the strings.
"but," Trelawney hiccups, "how do they cause the gum disease in the first place?" Her eyes are glassy and her cheeks are flushed. Luna almost feels bad for causing her so much worry, but it is something she should know.
"It's in potion's they require aurors to take," Luna informs, "they say they are to keep them fit for duty. Fit for whose duty, I'd very much like to know."
Luna has to catch Professor Trewlawny, who swoons at the news. It is a wonder the woman did not faint dead away. It is a tough burden to bare, bringing knowledge to the masses, but Luna doesn't mind. She is glad for the opportunity. |

Remus Lupin was a werewolf. There could be no doubt about it. Madam Pomfrey had walked him to the whomping willow and pressed the knot in the trunk, just as Sirius said she would. Remus Lupin was truly a werewolf.
Unless-- and Severus couldn't believe he hadn't thought of this sooner-- it was all an elaborate prank. Lupin would pretend to be a werewolf to hide whatever they really were up to. They chose full moon nights to get out of bounds so that they could keep up the charade. Lupin couldn't be a werewolf? Could he?
Severus Snape picked up the abandoned stick, determined to find out. |

He could bottle it. He'd decided he could as a child, when the windowpanes rattled and the whole house shook. He could take that raw power and hold it in his hand. He could. It was a delicate process, because In potions, like in nature, all the ingredients had to come together at the exactly right moment. There was an order and precision involved, and if he got it just right he'd have his storm.
He never doubted he could brew it, that he had the power to magically make it so, but he would never be able to control it, and even at the age of twelve, Severus Snape knew power without control meant nothing. |

Severus knew he was one complicated plan away from the receiving end of a Crucio. He felt like one of the ridiculous Bond villains, toiling over his doomsday-device. Reuben Goldberg was probably turning over in his grave.
Still, Potter was just barely escaping with his neck. The boy really was turning out to be as thick as Severus had always accused; soon it wouldn't matter how many unbreakable vows he had made to protect the lives of boys too stupid to protect their own. Severus would be dead and no one would be left to hold this ridiculous contraption together. |

Snape, always fortune's fool, did not believe in the gravity of others. He was not pulled; He was not drawn in. Dumbledore, the greatest fool of them all, had told him this was his true weakness. He could not-- would not connect.
He embraced that now, as the rest of them picked up their pieces. He would not fail. |

Notes: I have been writing a story from Tonks POV, and it is the first time I have really looked at her character. It should be out sometime this week and I am fairly nervous about it, because it is way outside of my comfort zone, not my usual writing style, not my usual characters, not my usual plot idea... This is Tonks as I see her in this story. Probably around fourteen or fifteen. Feedback would be lovely.

Okay, because I am easily convinced that certain things are good idea's that may or may not be, I decided after seeing busaikko's audio stories, that I wanted to record one of mine as well. I picked the story I wrote for Remus' birthday, Born again, because it is short. Most of my stuff is short, but this one was truly written in the spirit of a one-shot, so it is one of the few that doesn't feel like a wip. Point, point whose got the point? Oh right.
So I recorded my story.
